Chautauqua Picnic Shelter

$20.00 ($17.00 Concert Member)*, $18.00 Colorado Mountain Club Member & $15.00 children under 10

It’s the year 2520 and things are a little crazy. The apocalypse is NOW and the world has changed, a lot! To defend against a deadly virus, scientists have tried to fuse human DNA with the DNA of animals. Three siblings have escaped the lab, enhanced with the DNA of a pig (go ahead and laugh, you know you want to.)

These super pig-people rebels are on an epic search for a new home. Preferably one with less lab coats. Rumor has it there is one safe haven left, located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. Can the siblings make it to safety before the Big Bad Wolf, the most fearsome bounty hunter alive, catches them? You’ll find out in this fun, crazy, adventurous retelling of a family classic.

Audience and actors meet at the Chautauqua Picnic Shelter and take a moderate hike on the Enchanted Mesa Trail while scenes from the play are performed along the way. Approximate length of the hike is two miles with an elevation gain of 400 feet.

Audience members are encouraged to bring camping chairs and/or blankets and mats to sit on while watching the scenes. Water, sunscreen and hats are suggested and comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are strongly encouraged. In case of inclement weather, the performance will be held under the Chautauqua Picnic Shelter.

Buy early! Each hike is capped at low numbers and tends to sell out in advance.  Recommended for ages six (6) and older.
