Seasonal Groundskeeper

This seasonal position is part of a team responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all of the landscape and garden features of the 26 acres within the association’s leasehold. This includes but is not limited to: maintenance of decorative pots and pocket gardens located in various places throughout the grounds.  Maintenance includes ensuring that the gardens, potted plants and cottage lawn areas are adequately watered and weeded.  The Seasonal Groundskeeper may be asked on occasion to assist other members of the Facilities and Preservation Department with various tasks.  This position runs from May 1, 2017 through September 29, 2017.  This is typically a forty hour work week with standard hours being from 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Some weekend work may be required during periods of extreme weather.

Housekeeping Assistant

This is a full-time, year-round, benefited position supporting the Hospitality Department and is integral in helping the Colorado Chautauqua Association deliver a consistently high-quality visitor experience for its day and overnight guests.

This position performs housekeeping/building and grounds duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. Duties of this position include: general cleaning (sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.); cleaning bathrooms and kitchens (stove, refrigerator, etc.); cleaning windows, walls, ceiling fans, etc; changing bedding and linens/towel and cleaning outdoor areas and windows. Some evening and weekend work may be required in meeting position responsibilities. One year minimum hotel/house cleaning experience required. Bilingual a plus.

Event Staff

This is a part-time, seasonal, non-exempt position having responsibility for creating a positive and safe guest service experience as well as ensuring the general up-keep, cleanliness, and security of the Auditorium, Community House and surrounding areas. Evening and weekend work is required in meeting position responsibilities. For emergency and inclement weather reporting purposes this position is essential. The position works on site at the Colorado Chautauqua National Historic Landmark, a 100% smoke-free campus.
