FAMILY FUN AT CHAUTAUQUA
NOT JUST A LANDMARK
Waiting to check in for the best family vacation ever? Looking for something to do with the family over the weekend or school break?
Chautauqua has you covered! We’ve gathered together some great family activities to do with children of all ages!
Chautauqua is a hiker’s paradise with 40 miles of trails in every direction at all levels of difficulty. Dogs love our hikes and are allowed on most trails (and in many of our cottages). Don’t forget to stock up with water, snacks, dog toys and sunscreen from the General Store before you set off. The promise of a post hike ice cream or hot chocolate also works wonders for less enthusiastic walkers! Check out this Boulder CVB guide to Chautauqua hikes. For a quick, easy and beautiful hike all the family will love, we recommend Enchanted Mesa Trail or Bluebell Mesa.
Brunch at the Dining Hall
COLORADO BISTRO CUISINE
Start the day with a delicious trip to Chautauqua’s iconic Dining Hall. Delicious kid-friendly options include our famous house-made tater tots, ricotta flapjacks, amazing burgers, chilaquiles, and challah french toast. The Dining Hall offers a kids menu with pint-sized breakfasts and lunches and on warm weather days, enjoy your meal on the wraparound porch with a stunning view of the Flatirons and Chautauqua Green.
Gardens & Playground
RELAX WHILE THE LITTLE ONES PLAY
Wander through our beautiful Centennial and Waterwise Gardens where you can not only relax and de-stress but also learn more about our native Colorado plants. Make a game of how many flowers and plants your family can spot and take home ideas from our Waterwise Garden for plants to make your home garden more sustainable. Children can get their wriggles out at our beautiful new playground with its state-of-the-art play and climbing structures, including a mini-Auditorium and child-sized replica of the nearby Flatiron Mountain Range.
The General Store & Chautauqua Café
TREATS FOR ALL SEASONS

Pick up an ice cream, soda float, hot apple cider or cozy hot chocolate, whatever strikes your family’s fancy. There are delicious coffee and tea drinks for the grown-ups, too! Enjoy your treats outdoors in the newly reopened Chautauqua Café. This historic space is the perfect spot to relax, connect and enjoy the view. Remember your adventure with a wonderful selection of souvenirs, toys, and Chautauqua merchandise in the General Store.
