Five Reasons to Attend

1.Time for Reflection and Self-Discovery
Women take on so much – navigating home and work responsibilities and balancing health and financial concerns. Our retreats are designed to help you rebuild depleted reserves, forge new relationships, and learn healthy practices that will help you rediscover YOU. The Rockies offer a natural metaphor for feminine renewal, with joyful meadow flowers sprouting in the shade of snow-capped peaks. When was the last time you harnessed the power of nature, movement and connection with other women to fill your mind, body and soul with possibility?
2. Rich and Varied Program
Our retreat program was designed by an all-female team with a passion for women’s wellness and empowerment. The goal is to create a memorable and unifying experience for women of all ages and walks of life. Take in Chautauqua’s stunning natural surroundings. Enjoy silent hikes and mindfulness and restorative practices such as creating vision boards, Vinyasa yoga, and a Sacred Sound Journey. Our staff is here to help create a transformational experience for you!

3. Award Winning Lodging
The Craftsman-style Missions House Lodge features an expansive great room, cozy fireplace and eight-bedrooms (each with adjoining private bathrooms and queen beds). The lodge offers retreat participants an intimate space for programs, socializing and rest. Guests who prefer a more private arrangement can choose charming self-contained studio cottages with full kitchens. Wherever you choose to stay, you will join with the spirits of women who have found respite, discovery and connection at Chautauqua for over a hundred years.
4. Nutritional Food that Delights
Chautauqua prides itself on its delicious, healthful, energy-giving food, sourced locally and sustainably. Our farm-to-table partners at the celebrated Chautauqua Dining Hall serve gourmet Colorado bistro cuisine and specialty teas from the Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse. Participants at the retreats will also enjoy a spiritual cacao ceremony and a delicious picnic spread. You will savor the memory of these meals with new friends long after you return home.

5. History in the Making
This is the first series of women’s retreats since the golden years of the Chautauqua Movement in the early 20th Century. Women were at the core of that movement, which embraced the values of lifelong learning, love of nature, voluntary simplicity and music, oration and the arts. Those values remain at the core of the modern Chautauqua experience and our new Women’s Retreats. Join the retreat and become part of Chautauqua’s rich tapestry of women learners and leaders.
