Cottages & Lodges

Chautauqua’s charming collection of historic cottages and lodges are nestled beneath the iconic Boulder Flatirons. The cottages were constructed between 1899 and 1954 to replace the tents used during Chautauqua’s first summer season. Chautauqua is one of only two National Historic Landmarks in Colorado that offer public lodging. We do our best to help you relax and unplug with no tempting TVs or phones, but for guests needing to stay connected, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the park. Meanwhile, enjoy the great outdoors with front door access to over 40 miles of open space hiking trails or take in the sunrise and sunset from your porch. Just a 15-minute drive or leisurely walk to the renowned Pearl Street Mall and University of Colorado campus, the Colorado Chautauqua offers year-round cultural programming, a full-service Dining Hall, and a charming General Store where you can pick up a hot coffee, ice cream, and gifts.

Cottages and Lodges

The Colorado Chautauqua offers private cottages, each with their own charm and character, including studios, one, two, and three bedrooms and the beautifully restored Mary H. Galey cottage, which accommodates 12 people. In addition, our Missions House lodge has eight bedrooms, perfect for retreats or family reunions. Prefer a more apartment-style experience? Book a room in our historic Columbine lodge (beautifully refurbished in 2023). All of our spaces are fully furnished with fully equipped kitchens or kitchenettes, and many are pet-friendly! If you can stay during the beautiful winter season, you will enjoy our best rates of the year.

Enjoy front door access to over 40 miles of hiking trails, see a concert or film, take a self-guided tour, explore our gardens, check out our tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, or simply enjoy the sunrise and sunset from your cottage porch. Looking for more excitement? Talk to our Guest Service staff about climbing, skiing, tubing, rafting and other close by adventures! Bringing kids? Check our schedule for hiking plays, scavenger hunts, and other fun events. Don’t forget to visit the Chautauqua playground, where kids can climb the pint-sized Flatirons and explore our mini-Auditorium, along with many other fun features.
