GET OUTDOORS!

SO MUCH TO DO IN ONE MAGICAL PLACE

In addition to enjoying classical and popular concerts, silent and documentary films, dance, lectures and community events – the Colorado Chautauqua is a hotbed of outdoor and recreational activities! Not only does Chautauqua offers miles of spectacular hiking trails with access to thousands of acres of open space, a variety of sports courts and an awesome playground, our helpful staff can help you arrange all sorts of other outdoor adventures, including white water rafting, hot air ballooning, kayaking, tubing, and almost anything else you can imagine!

Incredible Hiking

MILES OF TRAILS

Chautauqua is a hiker’s paradise with 40 miles of trails in every direction at all levels of difficulty. Dogs love our hikes and are allowed on most trails (and in many of our cottages). Don’t forget to stock up with water, snacks, dog toys and sunscreen from the General Store before you set off. Check out this Visit Boulder guide to Chautauqua hikes.

Games for Everyone

GAME ON!

Hiking is superb here – but we have other outdoor activities, too. Get a friendly competition going on the tennis, basketball, and pickleball (available for guest use on a first come, first served basis) or head over to the Chautauqua Green park for a relaxing picnic and frisbee session.

Gardens & Playground

RELAX WHILE THE LITTLE ONES PLAY

Wander through our beautiful Centennial and Waterwise gardens where you can not only relax and de-stress, but also learn more about our native Colorado plants. Children can get their wriggles out at our beautiful playground with its state-of-the-art play and climbing structures, including a mini-Auditorium and child-sized replica of the Flatirons.  Finish the day watching the sun drop behind the Flatirons, followed by a spirited board game on your cottage porch.
