Accompanied by his very best friend and golden retriever, Tuesday, retired U.S. Army Captain Luis Carlos Montalván will read from his popular children’s book, “Tuesday Tucks Me In,” and talk about his special bond with the dog.
As narrated by Tuesday, “Tuesday Tucks Me In” recounts a day in the life of this service dog extraordinaire and tail-wagging ambassador for all things positive and uplifting in the world. The book takes the reader through Tuesday’s day, beginning with greeting Luis with dog breath, through to cuddling up on their bed, the last moment they spend together before sleep.
“Tuesday Tucks Me In” was selected as Amazon’s Best Non-Fiction Children’s Book for 2014, is a 2014 Goodreads Choice Award finalist and selected as part of the 2015 Notable Social Studies Children’s Book Council Award list. In 2015, “Tuesday Tucks me In” won three 2015 International Latino Book Awards for: “Best Educational Children’s Picture Book,” “Best Latino Focused Children’s Picture Book,” and “Most Inspirational Children’s Picture Book.” The Children’s Book Council selected it a “2015 Notable Social Studies Book for Young People.” And, Amazon.com officially declared “Tuesday Tucks Me In” the “Best Nonfiction Children’s Book of 2014.”
