A 100-year tradition, the beloved Chautauqua Silent Film Series continues with Beau Geste (1926). Beau Geste is a silent adventure drama based on the popular novel by Percival Christopher Wren. The film follows three devoted brothers who flee England and enlist in the French Foreign Legion after one of them takes the blame for the disappearance of a priceless family heirloom. Stationed at a remote desert fort, they face hardship, danger, and a ruthless commanding officer while their loyalty to one another is put to the ultimate test. Filled with action, suspense, and themes of honor and sacrifice, Beau Geste is considered one of the great adventure films of the silent era.
