Firewise Weekend – Both Days

Saturday 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM – Meet at the Chautauqua Picnic Shelter

Sunday 2:00 – 4:30 PM – Meet at the Chautauqua Community House

Learn about the unique fire dangers facing Chautauqua and Colorado, while doing your part to protect this national treasure. Fire prevention has been a top priority for Chautauqua staff, residents, and the public over the past several years, and concerns only increased after the recent Marshall and NCAR fires. Over this weekend, you will perform an important service clearing wildfire fuel at Chautauqua, learn what Chautauqua is doing to prevent fires and take a deep dive into fire prevention issues and strategies. At lively Q and A sessions with documentary filmmakers, local fire experts and community leaders, you will explore practical steps to protect your home, community, and open space. Join us to make connections with other concerned citizens and get answers to your top fire questions.
