Birding Chautauqua
Discover Chautauqua birds with us! Both seasoned birders and beginners are welcome – we’ll explore the area around McClintock trail and the Chautauqua campus to find the most common birds of the season. We’ll use Cornell University’s Merlin birding app to help beginners learn basics about bird ID-ing, useful not only in Boulder, but wherever they travel.
Led by local birding enthusiast and Boulder Open Space Volunteer, Lisa Gillespie. Please bring water, hat, sunscreen, and sturdy shoes. Bring binoculars or use one of our sets, and feel free to download the Merlin Bird ID phone app before we start (optional but useful).
Please no pets. Meet in the Academic Hall at 7:30 AM
Duration: 90-120 minutes, depending on avian cooperation.
This is a free event, but registration is required. Click “Get Tickets” to register.
