How many guests can you accommodate for a reception?

Do you have options for smaller wedding groups?

Yes. The Missions House Lodge accommodates 24 guests and the Mary H. Galey cottage accommodates 40 guests.

Both locations are perfect for a petite wedding group or rehearsal dinner and your group can also stay there. Invite your closest friends and family for an elegant ceremony and reception and stay the night in either of these premium lodging options.

Will someone be onsite to help me on the day of my wedding reception?

Our talented catering coordinators plan and execute every detail of your event. There is a 2.5% coordination fee for this service, in addition to a 20% service fee and 15% gratuity fee.

Is there parking at Chautauqua for my guests?

All parking at Chautauqua is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking can be challenging during the summer so we encourage guests to stay onsite to avoid parking issues.

Do you offer lodging for my guests?

Yes. Our award-winning lodging includes the Missions House Lodge, Columbine Lodge (summer only), the Mary H. Galey Cottage and 59 cottages available for nightly year-round rental (nightly stay minimums may apply). Our unique and beautifully appointed cottages are available in studio, 1-, 2-, 3- or 4-bedroom configurations, each with fully equipped kitchens and screened-in front porches. Do your venues have wheelchair access?

All of Chautauqua’s venues are wheelchair accessible.

Do you provide transportation for my guests?

We do not provide in-house transportation, but can provide qualified recommendations.

May we have an after-party in our Cottage or Lodge?

You can gather with friends and family in your cottage as long as you adhere to capacity limits and quiet down before 11pm. Quiet hours are from 11 pm – 7 am throughout the year, and from June 15 through August 15 we also observe quiet hours from 1 – 3 pm.

May we host our rehearsal dinner and/or post wedding brunch at Chautauqua?

What other activities are available for my guests?

How close are you to downtown Boulder?

Chautauqua is a 10-minute drive or a 1 mile walk to Boulder’s famous Pearl Street Walking Mall.

What happens if I book an outdoor ceremony and it rains?

Because we are located at the base of the Boulder Flatirons mountain range, Chautauqua weather can change unexpectedly. If you are planning an outside ceremony, we recommend booking a “weather back-up venue” – just in case.

Do you provide a complimentary back up venue?

Our unique event spaces fill up quickly so we do not hold complimentary back- up spaces unless specifically booked.

May we bring decorations for the reception and ceremony?

In most cases, yes – reach out to our catering services department to find out more.

May we bring in outside food and beverages?

Sorry. The Chautauqua Dining Hall is the exclusive catering provider for events booked in the park. No outside food and/or beverages are allowed.

Do you offer group room blocks?

Yes! Treat your guests to an unforgettable experience at the Colorado Chautauqua when you contract a group room block. Chautauqua’s unique and charming accommodations, all in close proximity to over 40 miles of premium trails, and walking distance to downtown Boulder, will make a lasting impression on your guests. Choose from our stand-alone cottages or keep the wedding party and family together when you book the Mary H. Galey cottage or Missions House, which sleep from 8-16 guests.

When you reserve a wedding room block for your guests, you enjoy:

May I have a courtesy room block for my summer wedding?

Due to the high volume of guests during the summer months, we only offer courtesy room blocks November through April.

Can I hand pick the cottages for a room block?

We do not allow handpicked room blocks but can guarantee that each of our cottages are unique and cozy.

May I book the Chautauqua Green for my ceremony?

The Chautauqua Green is located in front of the Dining Hall. This open, grassy space is owned and operated by the City of Boulder and can accommodate groups up to 100 people. Can I do a buyout of the Chautauqua Dining Hall for my reception?

Sorry. The Dining Hall services all of our guests, as well as the local community, but the west dining hall and tent can be booked together!

Can I do a buyout of the Community House?

Yes! The entire Community House can be reserved for your event. Host cocktails in the Rocky Mountain Climbers Club room and then move upstairs to the Grand Assembly Hall for an elegant or casual reception. Meanwhile, set up the Meadows Room for kids and sitters who would rather play!

Do you have a space for the Bride/Groom Party to get ready?

We recommend booking a cottage for the bride and groom to get ready, but we do provide complimentary bride and groom rooms with rental of the Grand Assembly Hall in the Community House.

Do you offer gift bags for our guests?

Gift bag delivery to guests is available for a nominal fee.

Can we hire our own vendors (photographer, DJ, etc.)?

Yes! We allow outside vendors for photography, flowers, and music. Please contact our sales team at [email protected] for a list of preferred wedding vendors.

Can we rehearse our ceremony?

Yes! A complimentary 1 hour use of the venue is available for a rehearsal no more than 7 days prior to the event (pending availability).

Do you offer site tours?

Yes! We encourage you to come tour our spectacular property and everything it has to offer. Please email our Sales Office to schedule a site tour at [email protected] or give us a call at 303-952-1612.

How do I hold a date?

Do you provide tables, chairs, linens?

Your rental includes use of our banquet tables, folding chairs, and standard ivory linens.

Can we use candles?

Candles must have waterproof containers beneath them, must be enclosed in glass, and must have water (e.g., votive candles and floating candles covered with hurricane lamps). Exceptions include a unity candle that is not in a holder and may remain lit during a wedding ceremony.

May I have a pet at my wedding?

Service animals are permitted and admitted, but must remain with the owner and be restrained. Please speak with the Private Events Department for the regulations regarding pet participation in your ceremony.

Can we have live music at our reception?

Music at Chautauqua private events should provide a subtle background for your gathering, not be used as the primary entertainment. In order to keep noise levels down, we prohibit the use of drums, amplified live music, or live combos of more than three (3) pieces.

All DJ’S and live music must be approved by the private events department in advance of your event and all music must be turned off at 9:45pm sharp.

What is the weather like in Boulder?

In Boulder, the summers are warm, windy and beautiful. The winters fluctuate between sunny, cold, dry, and windy. The temperature typically varies from 20 degrees F to 90 degrees F throughout the year.

From Denver International Airport (DIA)

Head NORTH on PEÑA BLVD. Go STRAIGHT onto PEÑA BLVD. Merge onto I-70 W/US-36 W via the exit on the LEFT. Take the I-270 W exit, EXIT 279, toward FORT COLLINS. Merge onto US-36 W. Take the BASELINE RD exit toward CO-93. Continue on Baseline up the hill. Just past 9th Street, turn LEFT into Chautauqua Park.

From Denver

Take I-25 N/US-87 N toward FT COLLINS. Merge onto US-36 W via EXIT 217 on the LEFT toward WESTMINSTER/BOULDER. Take the BASELINE RD exit toward CO-93. Continue on Baseline up the hill. Just past 9th Street, turn LEFT into Chautauqua Park.

From Golden

Take CO-93 N to Boulder. Turn LEFT onto the BASELINE RD. Continue on Baseline up the hill. Just past 9th Street, turn LEFT into Chautauqua Park.

From Longmont

Take CO-119 S to Boulder. CO-119 S becomes CO-157 S/FOOTHILLS PKWY. Turn RIGHT onto the BASELINE RD toward CO-93. Continue on Baseline up the hill. Just past 9th Street, turn LEFT into Chautauqua Park.
