The Colorado Chautauqua in Boulder means many things to many people. We each have our own reasons for feeling a deep connection to this special place. Some of us have had the pleasure of following the evolution of Chautauqua over some of its almost-112 years, admiring how it endured during hard times and now sits shining with promise for generations to come. Our Chautauqua has survived because of the devotion and active support of people who value what it stands for and what it offers: many different opportunities to "Escape, Engage, Elevate."

Preservation of the historic buildings and grounds making up the National Historic Landmark remains a fundamental part of our daily activities as we also focus on constantly improving the visitor experience of our cottages, lodges and event venues, the natural beauty of our 26 acres of grounds, and the quality and quantity of our educational and entertainment programming. Through our 2020 Planning initiative, which also addresses our commitment to making the Colorado Chautauqua the most environmentally sustainable National Historic Landmark in the country, we continue to identify both near-term and longer-term ways to reinvest in needed improvements to facilities, programs and operations.

We seek your support in funding these necessary and meaningful enhancements. Engaging more people to care enough about Chautauqua to become active stewards is essential given the reality that the costs associated with maintaining our historic buildings and grounds, providing meaningful year-round programming and making necessary improvements exceed currently available revenue. We simply must find new and creative ways to fund critical needs now and over time.

The mission of the Colorado Chautauqua Association is to preserve, perpetuate and improve the site and spirit of the historic Chautauqua by enhancing its community and values through cultural, educational, social and recreational experiences.
