Cottage 505 was built in 1910 on Aster Lane. All but three of the cottages on Aster were built in 1910. The CCA constructed a series of nearly identical cottages to accommodate burgeoning summer attendance at the Chautauqua Assembly.

Cottage 505 is also known as "Cottage D."
