Yoga at Chautauqua – Mind, Body and Nature in Unique Harmony

Slowing Down For Safety

As of Friday, November 6th 2020, the City of Boulder issued a “High Risk” Level Orange Safer At Home update for COVID-19 public health guidelines. Safety is a top priority at The Colorado Chautauqua and we have therefore decided to pause our current in-person yoga class offerings. However, we do value your interest, participation, and support, and we really hope to see you again soon! Stay tuned for possible virtual class offerings, and definitely for updates once the City determines a safer climate for live classes. Thank you!

Yoga at Chautauqua

Welcome! Our yoga program at the Colorado Chautauqua offers a complete yoga experience situated at the base of the Flatirons, one of the Rocky Mountain’s most charming landmarks. We look forward to seeing you for a rejuvenating yoga practice and encourage you to take some time to connect with nature in our contemplative gardens and open spaces before and after your classes!

About the Teacher

Sandi Higgins teaches yoga, helping others achieve a healthy mind-body balance. She found yoga as a young filmmaker and theater artist in NYC. Gradually her passion for the performing arts shifted into a fascination for holistic healing and contemplative wellness through yoga practice. Sandi has taught thousands of students between her native states of New York and New Jersey and her current home in Colorado. She has studied asana with her principal Ashtanga teacher, Sri R. Sharath Jois, in Mysore, India, and with American yoga pioneers Richard Freeman, Mary Taylor, David Swenson, Maty Ezraty, and Eddie Stern in the USA. A longtime student of Indian drumming and devotional music, as well as a teacher of Bollywood dance fitness, Sandi infuses her yoga classes with fresh insights into the ancient and contemporary arts and culture of the Indian subcontinent.

Safety Measures in the Time of COVID-19

Chautauqua’s indoor yoga classes are held in the well-ventilated Community House, which can accommodate COVID-19 social distancing protocols. The Community House, which allows far more space than regular yoga studios and fitness gyms, is nestled into the forested Chautauqua campus and is easily accessible from downtown Boulder.

Aligning with Colorado’s current Public Health Guidelines, our classes aim to optimize the health and safety of all participants by limiting class size to 10 people and by implementing safety precautions that include temperature checks before every class and masks at all times. In addition, rooms are completely sanitized between classes.
