University for a Day, presented by Colorado Chautauqua Association, aims to make Chautauqua a top-level center for the pursuit and presentation of knowledge relating to a singular topic for the day.  Over the course of one day, patrons are encouraged to attend as many of the day’s multiple lectures and presentations aimed to expand people’s knowledge and understanding of the day’s topic.
This September Colorado Chautauqua is excited to present a diverse curriculum of “Dissent and Activism.”  Bringing together community and scholars alike, this one-of-a-kind event will showcase some of the top minds in the Front Range, presenting thought-provoking and engaging conversation.  To close the event, Colorado Chautauqua is excited to host a special keynote address from Nadya Tolokonnikova, Co-Founder of the Artist Collective Pussy Riot.  Ms. Tolokonnikova’s evening presentation will conclude an enlightening and invigorating day of learning and engagement meant to inspire us all.

About the Speaker:
Dave Archambault, Sr. is best known as the “Indian School Whisper” and “Joe Bucking Horse.”  He has been a voice for future generations by advocating empowerment schooling models for Indian learners of all ages.  Archambault earned a master’s degree from Penn State and has headed the American Indian Higher Education Consortium, American Indian College Fund, Sitting Bull College, with experience as Tribal Councilman, School Superintendent, Principal and is the chairman of the Board for the American Indian Business Leaders organization.
