One sunny afternoon in 2005, two Middlebury College students created real-life quidditch swapping firebolts for ordinary broomsticks. Their leisurely pastime laid the foundation for the full contact and gender inclusive sport gaining international play today. The documentary film “Mudbloods” follows the resilient underdogs of the UCLA quidditch team as they help transform Harry Potter’s fictional sport into a real-life phenomenon and make their way to the fifth annual quidditch World Cup in New York City.

Ally Whitney former captain of the Boggarts Quidditch Club at Colorado State University and now a quidditch player in Denver will lead the post-screening discussion.
