Though much has been written about the amazing journey of The Lost Boys of Southern Sudan, very little has been written about the women. “Lost Girl Found,” though fictional, is based on the real experiences of female Sudanese refugees who have later settled in the Boulder / Denver area. You will embark on their journey as they try to escape from violence to the later seeking of educational opportunities. You will also learn about Southern Sudan, our world’s newest country, and about the traditions and struggles that this fledgling country faces.
Lost Girl Found was a winner of the 2015 Colorado Book Award. It was awarded a Parents Choice Award, was a School Library Journal selection and was nominated for a Kirkus Award.
