Since 1998, Jim Nowak has taken the dZi Foundation from a grassroots organization to a thriving non-profit that serves over 31,000 individuals in some of the most remote inhabited valleys on Earth. The dZi Foundation partners with underserved communities in remote regions of the Himalaya to build sustainable, locally-driven programs that improve quality of life through advancing education and health while reducing poverty.

Jim will share his two-decade journey and the core of dzi’s Deep Development Model, through wonderful photography of the remote regions of Sotang, Bung and Gudel where dZi works, and no trekkers travel. Learn how schools, water projects, thousands of toilets, community centers and agricultural structures were built. He will also share dZi’s financial transparency of their unique public audits in the villages of Nepal.

About the Speaker:

Jim Nowak is co-founder and president of the dZi Foundation. Their growth from a kitchen-table operation to one of the Himalayan region’s most respected non-profits is a direct result of his knowledge, passion and commitment to those the dZi Foundation serves today.
