Friday, June 26

Showtime: 10:00 AM

Chautauqua Auditorium

Bring your children to a fun introduction to classical music as Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni leads the CMF Orchestra in the Festival’s annual Young People’s Concerts.
Designed for kids ages 4 & up, these concerts will feature Prokofiev’s beloved Peter and the Wolf, allowing the entire family to explore the personalities of the various instruments. LOCAL Theater Company will bring the characters to life with movement and narration. The program will also include Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, with young musicians from local youth ensembles performing side-by-side with the CMF Orchestra, and a movement from Bottesini’s Concerto No. 2 for Double Bass, featuring 16-year-old Jesse Fischer, winner of the Greater Boulder Youth Orchestras’ 2015 concerto competitions.

After the concert, there will be a Music Fair, on the lawn, where kids can meet costumed characters, visit a instrument petting zoo, and enjoy face painting, balloon tying, snacks, and more.
