Images of nature in music take center stage in masterpieces from four countries. Featuring Colorado Music Festival Concertmaster, Calin Lupanu, as soloist in Vaughan Williams’ transcendent work, The Lark Ascending, the program opens with a suite of music from French composer Jean-Phillipe Rameau’s opera Les Boréades (The Descendents of Boreas). Also on the program is American composer Charles Ives’ Pulitzer Prize-winning Symphony No. 3 and Haydn’s Symphony No. 73, “The Hunt.”
