Jayme Stone’s Folklife – December 1

Two-time Juno-winning banjoist, composer and instigator Jayme Stone makes music inspired by sounds from around the world—bridging folk, jazz and chamber music. Stone continues this musical style with his newest project Jayme Stone’s Folklife, a group of versatile musicians featuring spellbinding singing, virtuosic playing and captivating storytelling. This weekend, Historic Boulder’s 33rd annual Homes for the Holidays returns to the Colorado Chautauqua! Tour historic houses and two of Chautauqua’s Craftsman landmarks, shop our Holiday Boutique and enjoy the sounds of the season performed by local singers and pianists. Frame by Frame – December 8

Set in a modern Afghanistan bursting with color and character, “Frame by Frame” follows four Afghan photojournalists as they navigate an emerging and dangerous media landscape – reframing Afghanistan for the world, and for themselves. Through cinema verité, intimate interviews, powerful photojournalism and never-before-seen archival footage shot in secret during the Taliban regime, the film connects audiences with four humans in the pursuit of the truth. Nabil Echchaibi, associate professor at the University of Colorado, Boulder, will introduce the film and lead a post-screening discussion. Watch the official trailer here. Step back in time and enjoy a holiday-inspired afternoon tea in front of the cozy fireplaces at the Chautauqua Dining Hall. This traditional afternoon tea service includes a classic, three-tiered assortment of fresh baked sweet & savory treats and a pot of premium tea.
