Paul Mags: Hiking the MX/US Border – March 6

Paul Mags, a Rhode Island native and current Boulder, Colorado resident, is an outdoor speaker and writer who has completed the Triple Crown of hiking. His travels have taken him through the Appalachians, on the summit of many peaks, along the borders of the United States, into remote canyons, and the occasional post-jaunt brewpub. Join Paul as he leads a discussion on the hot topic of a border wall between Mexico and the United States, as well as the economic impact of stricter border control. Tuesday, March 6. 7:00 PM. Pioneers: Women Artists of Colorado (1870-1970) – March 9

Celebrate Women’s History Month and learn about four female artists from Colorado who courageously confronted social stigma and prejudice in their pursuit of equal opportunity and artistic expression. Helen Henderson Chain, Jean Wirt Sherwood, Muriel Sibell Wolle and Eve Drewelowe – their stories exemplify the important influence that women have had on culture and society across the American West. “Pioneers” is a documentary by award-winning filmmaker Erika Volchan O’Conor that is part of an important effort to reconstruct American women’s history and celebrate the contributions women have made that benefit our society today. The order deadline for the annual spring installation of commemorative bricks in the Centennial Garden is March 15.
