The Mark of Zorro (1920) – June 27

Swing into action with the adventure classic “The Mark of Zorro” , starring the great swashbuckler Douglas Fairbanks. “The Mark of Zorro” tells the story of Don Diego Vega, the weak and foppish son of a wealthy landowner in Southern California, but it is he who transforms into Zorro – the mask-wearing, sword-wielding scourge of the local oppressors. Boulder Concert Band on the Green – July 4

Gather your friends and family and join us on the Chautauqua Green for our 120th birthday! This family-friendly celebration features two sets of Americana music by one of the premier community bands in the state, Boulder Concert Band. Consisting of over 70 volunteer musicians, the band’s performance will feature a wide variety of traditional patriotic music including John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever,” starring any kid conductor willing to give it a try.

Bring your appetite and let the staff of the Chautauqua Dining Hall take care of the rest. Serving delicious BBQ-style cuisine on the stone patio and baked goods, grab-n-go snacks and $1.20 single-scoop ice cream in the General Store, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Irish Tales along the Trails – July 7 – August 5

Prepare yourselves for a journey of the imagination, as we venture to the Emerald Isle for stories of wit and whimsy! Lively lads and lionhearted lassies test their brains and bravery in stories guaranteed to delight the entire family. Audience and actors meet at the Chautauqua Picnic Shelter and take a moderate hike on the Enchanted Mesa Trail while scenes from the play are performed along the way. Saturday, July 7. 10:00AM. Participate in the 2018 annual election

Five candidates (Nan Anderson, Henry Beer, Bruce Hazzard, Michael Matts, Bruce Neumann and Margaret Ryder) are running for three openings on the 15-person Colorado Chautauqua Association (CCA) Board of Directors (BOD). Elected board members will serve three-year terms beginning September 1, 2018 and ending August 30, 2021.

The election opens online at noon on Thursday, July 5th and runs through 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23rd. Online voting log-in and candidate information will be sent to CCA members of record via e-mail (or written ballot, if requested) on Thursday, July 5th.

The election results will be announced at the end of the Annual Meeting, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 23rd in the Grand Assembly Hall of the Community House. All members of record as of Thursday, July 6, 2018 are invited to participate. Renew your membership or join online here.
