![]() FILMThe Freshman (1925) – June 20Featuring live musical accompaniment by Hank Troy, piano. “The Freshman” (1925) is Harold Lloyd’s biggest hit in silent film cinema, where he stars as a new college student – dreaming of being the football-playing big man on campus. In a somewhat predictable fashion, his plans inevitably go awry. He ultimately proves his worth in one of the most famous sports sequences ever filmed, a crowd-pleasing showcase of Lloyd’s slapstick brilliance and charm. Watch the trailer here. MUSICMary Chapin Carpenter – June 23Over the course of Mary Chapin Carpenter’s acclaimed career, she has recorded 14 albums and sold over 14 million records. With hits like” Passionate Kisses” and “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her,” she has won five Grammy Awards, two CMA awards, two Academy of Country Music awards for her vocals and is a member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Her newest album, “Sometimes Just The Sky,” is a celebration of her acclaimed 30-year recording career. The landmark record features new versions of some of Carpenter’s most beloved songs, as well as one newly written song. Carpenter will perform fan favorites and songs from the album this Saturday. Colorado Music Festival Opening Night – June 28The 41st Colorado Music Festival (CMF) season begins this Thursday, June 28 with violinist Vadim Gluzman, performing an exciting evening of music that includes Leonard Bernstein’s most lyrical orchestral works. Boulder Concert Band on the Green – July 4Gather your friends and family and join us on the Chautauqua Green for our 120th birthday! This family-friendly celebration features two sets of Americana music by one of the premier community bands in the state, Boulder Concert Band. TOURSFree Walking ToursEnjoy a walk through the grounds with Colorado Chautauqua Association’s archivist and learn about the history of the Chautauqua Movement and the Colorado Chautauqua. Running through August 29, tours commence at 10:00 AM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and depart from in front of the Chautauqua Dining Hall. TRANSPORTATION & PARKINGRide the free HOP 2 Chautauqua to concerts this summerJoin us in being part of the solution to reduce congestion and “be green” by riding the HOP 2 Chautauqua, a free transit service to the Colorado Music Festival and Chautauqua Summer Series events. All HOP 2 Chautauqua shuttles are ADA compliant “kneeling” buses and begin running approximately 90 minutes before show time and run for 45 minutes after the show.
