John Noltner: A Peace of my Mind – May 9

Award-winning photographer and peace activist John Noltner’s book, “A Peace of My Mind” engages the reader with the art and storytelling to rediscover the common humanity that connects us. For nearly a decade, Noltner has photographed and interviewed political leaders and artists, to homeless individuals Holocaust survivors and others. He always asks one question of them – “What does peace mean to you?” Check out a visual introduction to his book here, and then explore the meaning of peace, one story at a time. Square Nail Awards – May 15

Celebrate Historic Preservation Month and join Heritage Roundtable in acknowledging the “Square Nail Award” winners, all of whom have made special contributions to historic preservation in Boulder County during the past year. Come early and join us at 4:30 p.m. on the steps of the Community House for a brief tour of Chautauqua and hear about current preservation projects. Mountainfilm on Tour visits the historic Chautauqua Auditorium this summer! The evening will feature a collection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and enlightening documentary short films in pursuit of Mountainfilm’s mission to use the power of film, art and ideas to inspire audiences to create a better world. Camp Chautauqua, for children ages 6 through 13, offers activities like nature hikes, games, arts and crafts, challenge courses, wilderness skills and much more!
