Hot Rize – June 1

Hudson: Scofield, Medeski, DeJohnette & Grenadier – June 11

Self-named Hudson, this jazz supergroup named after the river valley they each call home, features guitarist John Scofield, keyboardist John Medeski, drummer Jack DeJohnette and bassist Larry Grenadier. Each musician is a virtuoso at the top of his game. Together, they are swinging jazz masters, deft and creative jam purveyors, rocking funky groove maestros. True to the spirit of the project’s name, they have collected a repertoire of Hudson Valley materials from Bob Dylan and The Band to the Woodstock Festival’s Joni Mitchell anthem and blues-rock-soul from Jimi Hendrix. Punch Brothers – June 12

Described by the New York Times as “American country-classical chamber music,” the Punch Brothers (Chris Thile (mandolin), Gabe Witcher (fiddle/violin), Noam Pikelny (banjo), Chris Eldridge (guitar), and Paul Kowert (bass)) take the Chautauqua stage to showcase their T Bone Burnett-produced album, “The Phosphorescent Blues.” Gaby Moreno will open tonight’s show. The Oddest Sea: Greek Gods & Giggles – June 3 – July 30

What could be better than a short hike combined with discovering a Greek classic in the midst of your journey? Set sail up the trail with Odysseus and encounter gods and goddesses, a cyclops, a whirlpool, a sea-witch, and more in this humorous adaptation of the famous Greek literature that would please Zeus himself. Buy early! Each hike is capped at low numbers and tends to sell out in advance. Recommended for all ages. Presented by Arts in the Open. Show length: 2 hours. June 3 – July 30.
