Murmuration – May 21

Murmuration is an unparalleled live music and dance event in Colorado. It pairs musicians and dancers in unexpected combinations to celebrate the community’s wide array of talent, creativity and diversity. The show pioneers artistic relationships between different styles of dance, from break dancing to ballet, with musicians and musical groups ranging from DJ’s to drum lines. By challenging the boundaries between dance and music, Murmuration uncovers unfound and remarkable harmony waiting to be explored both in the arts in our lives at large. Watch the promo video here. JUST ANNOUNCED: Racing Extinction: The Film – October 20

“Racing Extinction” premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival and we are excited to screen this documentary at Chautauqua! The Oceanic Preservation Society (OPS), the group behind the Academy Award®-winning film “The Cove,” brings a voice to the thousands of species on the very edge of life. An unlikely team of activists is out to expose the two worlds endangering species across the globe: the international trade of wildlife and the oil and gas companies. You know the story of Evel Knievel, but do you know the legend of Evil Cheesey? Rebel…Outlaw…Daredevil…Loner…Loser…Crazy…Finished. Local Boulder legend Terry Chesebro has been called them all since his stint as an illegal street jumper in the 1970’s.Thirty devastating years later, can Terry Chesebro once again don his cape and return to the Boulder streets he wandered to become Evil Cheesey one last time?
