MUSIC

Ziggy Marley – June 9

There are only a few tickets left for Ziggy Marley, oldest son of famed reggae musician Bob Marley. With a catalog of music spanning twelve critically-acclaimed albums and the release of his new album, “Ziggy Marley,” this show is not to be missed. Get your tickets before they are all gone! Thursday, June 9. 7:30 PM. Chautauqua Auditorium. Ride the FREE HOP 2 Chautauqua to this show. Buy tickets online.

Trevor Hall – June 10

Trevor Hall has always had an affinity for summery acoustic music, from the beachside ambience of Jack Johnson to the leisurely stroll of Bob Marley. Music is Trevor’s most intimate companion and creative outlet, while his studies of yoga and certain spiritual practices in India influence his music and his life journey. His newest album, “Kala” draws from his Eastern learnings in India and his dedication to music. Jon Wayne & the Pain will open the show. Friday, June 10. 7:30 PM. Chautauqua Auditorium. Ride the FREE HOP 2 Chautauqua to this show. Buy tickets online.

Gregory Porter – June 12

Gregory Porter wields one of the most captivating baritone voices in jazz music today. It emits enormous soul that conveys both the emotions and intellect of any given song without relying on vocal histrionics. Jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater praised Porter in the pages of JazzTimes by saying, “We haven’t had a male singer like him in a long time.” Venus Cruz will open the show. Sunday, June 12. 7:30 PM. Chautauqua Auditorium. Ride the FREE HOP 2 Chautauqua to this show. Buy tickets online.

COMEDY

Paula Poundstone – June 11

Paula Poundstone is an Emmy Award-winning comedian, author, humorist and regular panelist on NPR’s weekly quiz show, “Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me.” She is the first woman to win the cable ACE for Best Standup Comedy Special, and is the first woman to perform standup at the prestigious White House Correspondents Dinner. Nick Zaino with the Boston Globe writes, “Poundstone improvises with a crowd like a jazz musician, swinging in unexpected directions without a plan, without a net… there’s a disarming ease in her craft, an immediate sense that she’s so quick on her feet, you need never worry about the possibility of something going wrong.” Saturday, June 11. 7:30 PM. Chautauqua Auditorium. Ride the FREE HOP 2 Chautauqua to this show. Buy tickets online.

FAMILY THEATER

Nosy Neighbors – June 11

Bring the family and join us for an afternoon of clown theater. Peek into Pia & Pashminka’s pop-up world in which epic journeys to get the mail and dancing houses prevail! An audience member at the Boulder International Fringe Festival had this to say about “Nosy Neighbors,” “I laughed until I cried, and my son (the cranky teenager) laughed right along with me. I highly recommend this show for young children, teens and adults.” Saturday, June 11. 2:00 PM. Chautauqua Community House. Buy tickets online.
