FAMILY THEATER

Edwina the Great and Her Amazing Flea Circus – August 5

Last year’s summer hit “Edwina the Great and Her Amazing Traveling Flea Circus” returns to Chautauqua next month. This remarkably fun and delightful show revives the fine art of the flea circus. Edwina has traveled the world over to find the most talented fleas—miniature minions of delight to woo you with feats sublime and…dangerous. Space is limited for this tiny theater. Recommended for ages four (4) and older. Saturday, August 5. 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Chautauqua Community House, Rocky Mountain Climbers Club. Buy tickets online.

Flight of Fancy – August 12

Using masks and puppets to create a magical, cartoon-like world inside of a biodome, “Flight of Fancy” spins a tale of wonder when a puffin and a girl become unlikely friends and break loose into a night of adventure. Directed by Meghan Frank and performed by Sondra Blanchard, artistic director of Public Works Theatre Company, and Claire Patton, this show features a “full mask” style in which the actors do not speak, but express themselves through physical movement, as well as a lush sound score. Recommended for all ages. Saturday, August 12. 11:00 AM. Chautauqua Community House. Buy tickets online.
