Grab your friends and family and join us at the movies! This 1929 romantic comedy showcases the beautiful silent cinema star Colleen Moore as Pert, a free-spirited flapper. Unexpectedly, Pert finds herself in love with the son of her boss, much to the displeasure of her new beau’s family. With pressure from her love’s father to seek out a virtuous girl, a trap is set to find out if Pert is a good girl or just another flapper. Wednesday, July 13. 7:30 PM. Chautauqua Auditorium. The Kid – July 20

Starring Charlie Chaplin and Jackie Coogan with live musical accompaniment by Hank Troy, piano

Charlie Chaplin’s first full-length feature is considered one of the greatest films of the silent era beloved by critics and audiences alike. The 1921 classic is about a tramp (Chaplin) who discovers an orphan (Jackie Coogan) and raises him as his sidekick in a variety of schemes and cons. However, the tramp is left desolate when the orphanage reclaims the kid. Chaplin directed, produced and starred in the film, as well as composed the score. Watch a preview here. Marc Cohn’s 25th Anniversary Show featuring special guests The Blind Boys of Alabama – July 23

Marc Cohn is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his platinum-selling debut record with a series of special concerts. Joined by an all-star band and legendary gospel group The Blind Boys of Alabama, Marc will perform his Grammy-winning record in its entirety, from start to finish on the historic Chautauqua stage. From the iconic opening track “Walking In Memphis,” to the album’s last song “True Companion,” fans will enjoy a sequence of songs accompanied by photographs and video from Marc’s personal archives. Colorado Music Festival – Week 3

Join Colorado Music Festival (CMF) on Thursday, July 14 for the return of music director laureate Michael Christie as he continues his longtime collaboration with pianist Orion Weiss and leads the CMF orchestra. Orion Weiss will then perform a special chamber program on Friday, July 15 with CMF creative partner and cellist Joshua Roman. Week 3 of CMF continues on Sunday, July 17 as violinist and SeiSolo Artist-in-Residence Vadim Gluzman leads the orchestra in a conductor-less program with music inspired by Johann Sebastian Bach, followed on July 19 with an evening of Italian influences with Gluzman and piano virtuoso David Korevaar. Join us in being part of the solution to reduce congestion and “be green” by riding the HOP 2 Chautauqua, a free transit service to the Colorado Music Festival and Chautauqua Summer Series events.

All HOP 2 Chautauqua shuttle are ADA compliant “kneeling” buses and begin running approximately two hours before every concert and run for 45 minutes after the show.
