DOCUMENTARY FILMK2: Siren of the Himalayas – February 20“K2: Siren of the Himalayas” follows a group of world class alpinists as they attempt to summit the world’s most challenging peak on the 100-year anniversary of the Duke of Abruzzi’s landmark 1909 expedition. The documentary also examines the history and geography of the Karakoram Mountains, and the adventure, peril, teamwork and serenity of high altitude mountaineering. ACCESS & SAFETY PROJECTSPhase I of West Garden Walk continuesPhase I of the West Garden Walk project – the installation of a comprehensive, below ground, storm water drainage management system – is expected to be completed this week. A temporary walkway will be set up to the west of the Dining Hall, in front of Cottage 200, to provide access through this area to the Dining Hall as work progresses on the ADA accessible restroom project and the associated excavation. Phase II of the project will include grading and stone work as an ADA accessible walkway with associated landscaping is constructed. This phase of the project is expected to be completed in spring 2015. Please use caution when using this walkway and obey all signage in the area. Thank you for your cooperation. Auditorium ADA accessible restroom project continuesExcavation on the west side of the Auditorium continues this week in preparation for the construction of an ADA accessible restroom structure to service Auditorium patrons. The first phase of this project includes the relocation of an electrical transformer which serves the Auditorium, and is expected to be completed by the end of the week. The project, managed and funded by the City of Boulder, will feature a six stall restroom with ADA accessible accommodations for both men and women. The restroom will be completed in mid-May for the start of the 2015 Chautauqua Auditorium season.
