![]() EXPLORERSKedrowski & Fielder: Ski CO through a Lens – December 13Dr. Jon Kedrowski is a geographer, ski-mountaineer, expedition leader and outdoor adventure athlete. In 2011, he became the first person to camp and spend the night on the top of Colorado’s 55 official 14ers (peaks over 14,000′). In 2012, Dr. Kedrowski successfully climbed Mount Everest on May 26. His story has been chronicled extensively as he witnessed and survived the worst tragedy on Everest since the 1996 disaster. From majestic sunrises over the Rockies to colorful wildflowers, photographer John Fielder has been capturing the beauty of Colorado for 40 years. Author of 50 exhibit format and guide books, including Colorado’s all-time best-selling regional title, “Colorado 1870-2000,” he hikes and skis hundreds of miles of the state each year — and drives thousands — in order to capture its most sublime natural places. Join Dr. Jon Kedrowski and John Fielder for an evening of stories – both funny and dramatic – from their combined 60 years of surviving the challenges of exploring the nivean world. This visually stimulating presentation will be derived from their new books, “Classic Colorado Ski Descents” and “A Colorado Winter.” Thursday, December 13. 7:00 PM Chautauqua Community House.
