River of Lost Souls – April 17

In 2015, the Gold King Mine disaster quickly became one of the most shocking disasters in the world of mining. The Animas River was filled with mining-related sludge and toxic metals that poisoned 100 miles of stream, turning the river orange. “River of Lost Souls” examines just how damaging this mining incident was for the holy land of several southwestern tribes.

Join author and environmental journalist Jonathan P. Thompson for a discussion on “River of Lost Souls” and the catastrophe surrounding this gripping chronicle of human history. Wednesday, April 17. 7:00 PM. Chautauqua Community House. Buy tickets online.
