AUTHOR

William Briggs: How America Got Its Guns – April 24

Gun control is a complex issue and a hot topic in today’s politics. In the United States, more than thirty thousand deaths each year can be attributed to firearms. The demographics of the “typical” gun-owner in America have changed over the years to include ordinary people and the way they live their everyday lives, enhancing the national gun debate and the foundation it was created upon. “How America Got Its Guns” examines the Second Amendment and the laws and court cases it has spawned.

Boulder-native and author William Briggs provides the background needed to follow gun politics in America and to understand the gun culture in which we are likely to live for the foreseeable future.

Join William Briggs for a discussion on the current state of gun ownership in the United States. Wednesday, April 24. 7:00 PM. Chautauqua Community House. Buy tickets online.
