Pet Fees

KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND

Since it takes us longer to clean up after little paws and wayward fur, we charge a pet fee of $25 per night for up to two pets for up to a 14 day stay in a studio or one bedroom, and an additional fee of $15 per night for a third pet. The maximum fee for any given stay is $300.

Guests with three pets must stay in a two bedroom or larger cottage. For stays of 14 nights or more, a refundable deposit of $250 is required. For stays of 30 nights or more, the deposit increases to $500.

Dogs may NOT be left unattended in any cottage for any reason. If your pet causes damage, you are financially responsible. Damages caused by pets (including guest rooms, hallways and common areas) will be assessed according to our damage policy. Likewise, if you depart with excessive pet hair on the chairs or beds, we charge an additional fee to cover housekeeping costs.

We also ask that you refrain from using bath towels to wipe down your furry friends.

Please contact Guest Services (303-952-1611) for questions regarding pet fees.

Other Things to Remember

HELPFUL TIPS

-Quiet hours are a century-old tradition here at Chautauqua. Friendly, quiet pets are welcome as long as they respect quiet hours, which begin at 11:00 pm and extend to 8:00 am daily.

-Keep your dog leashed. Leash laws are in effect for all of Chautauqua and the surrounding hiking trails. This is for the safety of your pet and other guests.

-Do not let your pet tangle with wildlife. The area surrounding Chautauqua is home to bears, mountain lions, bobcats, porcupines, deer, elk, skunks and many other wild and potentially dangerous creatures.

-Scoop your poop. Please remember to pick up after your pet. Bags are provided at the trailheads and in the lodging office.

-Be alert for signs of fatigue and remember to carry water for your pets. Due to the high elevation and dry air, your pet can get heatstroke without plenty of water and rest.

-Stay alert and watch for others. You will be sharing the trails with bikers, runners and other hikers.

-Make other arrangements for your pet if you are visiting the Pearl Street Mall.
Pets are not allowed on the mall, regardless of whether the animal is on a leash.

-Most importantly, enjoy your time with your furry companions at the Colorado Chautauqua!
