The beautiful Community House was built in 1917 to serve as the “living room” to the original tent residents of Chautauqua. The Community House has three rooms available for rental.
GRAND ASSEMBLY
The Grand Assembly is 1,404 square feet and can accommodate up to 75 people. The main room is all warm wood, surrounded by shelves of antique books, with a bay window at one side. The room has a gas fireplace and a baby grand piano. There’s a 360° balcony inside, and a huge, covered porch outside overlooking a garden with a brick path. The space also includes a service kitchen, a buffet/dining area for your catered meals, and a bridal changing room. The Grand Assembly rental includes padded folding chairs, five 5’ round tables, seven folding 5’ rectangular tables, and three stately antique harvest wood tables. Sorry, we don’t provide flatware, china, linens, or decorations.
MEADOWS ROOM
The Meadows Room is a small garden-level room in the same building. It’s 412 square feet and has a gas fireplace and a TV/VCR. It is rented separately from the Grand Assembly and has its own separate building entrance, restroom, etc. It makes a perfect place for functions up to 15 people. It’s also wonderful to use as a kids’ room or dressing room for a wedding in the Grand Assembly, or as additional breakout space in conjunction with meetings in the Grand Assembly.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS' CLUB
As of March 15, 2008, we have a third indoor event space: The completely refurbished, historic Rocky Mountain Climbers' Club Room! It's 990 square feet and will accommodate up to 72 people theater-style or up to 40 people banquet-style. It's perfect for a small, elegant wedding or reception, a luncheon, or an intimate meeting or business retreat. This new room has gorgeous all-around interior stone walls, and the gas fireplace provides a lovely, warm ambience. Make your reservations now for your event in our newest gem!
The Community House may be used between the hours of 8am and 10pm.
