Cottage 30 was built in 1901 and is also known as the "Fort Worth Cottage."

In the winter of 1900 the Association announced that prizes would be awarded to teachers competing by city, town or school district to build the best cottage. Eligible cottages had to cost at least $200 and needed to be finished by June 30, 1901. They received $150, an 18-year land lease and free admission.
